Zamorin of Calicut
   The rulers of Calicut on the Malabar coast from the 15th century onwards were known as Zamorins. Mirza Shah Rukh's (1405-1448) envoy 'Abd al-Razzaq, who calls this ruler Samurai, visited his court at Calicut in 1443.
